The responsibility to be acquainted is simple and rewarding.
The Neighborhoods Program was created to enhance neighborhood self-reliance and overall community health through community-based problem solving, city service accessibility and neighborhood services. The Neighborhoods Program helps citizens to stay informed about the community, organize neighborhood associations, and assists citizens to get involved in the decisions affecting our neighborhoods and community.
Recognized Neighborhood Associations
Recognized neighborhood associations are autonomous organizations formed by people within a defined area for the purpose of considering and acting on issues affecting the livability and quality of their neighborhood. Recognized neighborhood associations must meet the Neighborhood Recognition Ordinance's (Ordinance 1728) basic criteria in order to be considered a recognized neighborhood.
